FURTHER READING: PARABLES OF RECONCILIATION
There are two common and well known parables in relation to reconciliation. A parable is a story in which a moral or spiritual lesson is unveiled, much like the ones told by Jesus in the Gospel.
In fact, Jesus' ministry later came to rely heavily on parables as the main form of teaching. He used them to reveal the truth to those who wanted to know and conceal it from those who were disinterested.
The parables below of the Prodigal Son and the Lost Sheep, not only speak of God’s mercy but also his love and compassion towards the sinner. These are simple, easy to follow stories that children can be told as evidence of God's love and forgiveness.
